Author: Gibril Fouad Haddad

Foreword by Sayyid Yusuf Sayyid Hashim al-Rifaʿi

A compendium of the Sunni proofs on the issues of tawassul (using intermediacy), tabarruk (getting blessings), ziyara (visit of graves), kashf (spiritual unveiling), karamat (miracles of saints) and the refutation of false accusations of “excessive love of the Prophet,” “grave-worship,” “forged hadiths” and more. The book came out in Arabic in Damascus in 2007. Here now, 18 years later, is its expanded and annotated English version.

About the Author:

Gibril Fouad Haddad has been a murid of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani and his successor Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani since 1991. This is his eleventh book written in rebuttal of the “Salafi” movement, also known as Wahhabis—the sect that for the past 250 years have been opposing the fiqh of the Four Sunni Schools, minimizing the status of the Prophet and his inheritors, promoting the attribution of limbs to Allah, and calumniating the Sufis who are the elite of the Umma.

Shaykh Gibril holds scholarly licences (ijazas) from 200 shaykhs and has authored four dozen book and hundreds of articles on Islamic hermeneutics, doctrine, hadith, tasawwuf, biography and heresiology. He has completed the first ten-lection English translation of the Holy Qur'an and an annotated complete translation of Imam al-Baydawi's Tafsir, the first-ever in any language. He lives in Brunei Darussalam with his family.
